Mennonite Women USA invites persons to share financially to support this ministry. Individuals are invited to give in honor of or in memory of significant people in their lives. We recognize each gift that honors or remembers a relationship. These women were honored or remembered by a loved one who sent a gift to Mennonite Women USA.

Gifts given since October 1, 2019:

  • Jan Springer Rheinheimer, of Tucson, AZ, with gratefulness, in honor of Anne Fortìn, a Biblical Theologian and teacher who “offered me and the Lombard Mennonite Women’s Bible Study the gift of how to interpret Scripture in a new way. Her humbleness in teaching brought us to new Biblical understandings and insights that were life-giving and life-changing.” Anne is currently serving overseas with MCC.
  • Helen Jantz, N Newton, KS in memory of her mother, Lena Wiens Neufeld, who was a pastor’s wife for many years with all the duties of that role. She was very active in the Bethel Church at Inman as a Sunday school teacher, in the Mission Circle, in visitation, as well as sharing a bowl of soup with many friends in her nearly 100 years of living.
  • Rebecca Rutt, Strasburg, PA in honor of Kathy Beiler.
  • Rebecca Sommer in honor of Veva Garber.
  • Sheryl Banks in memory of Marjorie Kotva.
  • Linda Kandel in memory of Marie Sauder.
  • Ellen Horst in memory of Nancy Martin.
  • Gloria Lehman, Singers Glen, Va., in loving memory of my sister, Elaine Clymer, Linville Va., formerly Fresno, Calif., who loved women’s ministry, leading Bible studies and worship services, and hiked the many hills and canyons of California with delight. “We lost her too early after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer in 2015.”
  • Arlene Snyder, Clarence Center, NY in memory of Marjorie Wideman.
  • Anonymous in honor of Berni Kaufman and in memory of Joan Kaufman.
  • Carol Spicher, of Mountville, PA in honor of Jan Emswiler, Harrisonburg, VA. “I respect Jan for her commitment as an advocate for women’s health!”
  • Alma Unrau, Goessel, KS, Linda Goering, Moundridge, KS and Carol Hershberger, Hutchinson, KS in memory of their mother, Mary Kauffman. “Mary worked as a school cook for many years but always made attending Sewing Circle meetings a priority. We girls have many fond memories of learning to ‘sew’ at these meetings while having fun with our friends. Mother enjoyed reading Timbrel magaine, especially the articles of how the Mennonite Women organization was reaching out to help sisters in other countries.”
  • Carolyn Locy, Glendale, AZ in honor of Arlene Schaefer, Glendale, AZ. “Mom, at 94, in failing health and with poor eyesight, continues to bring joy to her family and friends with her positive attitude and grateful heart.”
  • Rob and Wendy Shelly, of Williamson NY in honor of Elizabeth (Betty) Shelly.  Betty’s love of nature reminds us all to delight in God’s creation.
  • Shannon Unzicker, Benson, IL in memory of Esther Clemmer Musselman, Souderton, PA, who shared her musical gifts with the church and community as a song leader, teacher of piano and organ, and accompanist for more than fifty years.
  • Rebecca Longenecker, Seattle, WA in honor of Joyce Longenecker.
  • Art Stoltzfus, Harrisonburg, VA, in memory of Edith Stoltzfus.
  • Phyllis Baumgartner, Berne, IN in memory of Bertha Baumgartner.
  • Susan Hofstetter, Dalton, OH in memory of Barbara G Murray.
  • A church sister in Idaho gives in honor of Kathy Bilderback, Boise, Idaho. Kathy is an honest, down to earth servant of God, ministering not only to her congregation but to the community around her and the wider church, and caring for women in all aspects. I appreciate her example!
  • Lee Snyder, Harrisonburg, VA in honor of Cyneatha Millsaps, Elkhart, IN.
  • Myrna C Kaufman, Goshen, IN in honor of Carolyn Heggen.
