Mennonite Women USA is proud to be one of the sponsors of the first (of hopefully many!) Women Doing Theology conferences organized by the Women in Leadership Project of Mennonite Church USA.
The conference, taking place February 20-22, 2014, is titled: All You Need Is Love. The organizers have this to say about the impetus of this year’s focus:
All You Need Is Love
“At this conference, we want to be reflecting on God from the multitude of contexts from which participants are coming,” says Hilary Scarsella, one of the event planners “Our hope is that there will be space to do this reflection academically, relationally, prayerfully, actively and also contemplatively, so that participants engage this gathering with their whole selves.”
The theme was chosen to both playfully acknowledge the way love is brought to the forefront by Valentine’s Day in February, and also wrestle with the complexity of love as an element of Christian faith. February is also Black History Month, and one of the primary commitments of the conference is to work at undoing racism and advancing intercultural transformation. Read the full press release.
Total cost for the entire conference is only $350 (by check) which includes:
- 2 nights hotel stay
- All meals
- Conference programming
- Fitness equipment
- Internet access
