Eulissa lives with her daughter, Tatiana. Their home was heavily damaged by flooding related to Superstorm Sandy. Eulissa had fixed up the house just before the storm; afterwards, the work had to be redone.
While telling us of her experience during the storm, Eulissa said that God will make a way when it seems there’s no way – a path through the desert. She also stated that the Mennonite Disaster Service volunteers are all like the hand of God extended.
Ms. Eulissa was presented with a wall hanging made by Arlene of Sun Valley, Nevada. It was a log cabin design in reds, yellows, and browns.
The dedication occurred on July 16, 2013, in Far Rockaway, New York.
